Global Voyages Indonesia Visits SMAN 1 Lawang to Encourage Students to Engage in Voluntourism

Lawang, Indonesia - (28/08/2023) - Recently, the Global Voyages Indonesia team visited a high school in Lawang to promote their volunteer program to high school students. This visit aimed to raise students' awareness about the importance of contributing to society through volunteer activities.

Global Voyages Indonesia hopes that this visit will inspire students to be actively participate in social activities. During this visit, the Global Voyages Indonesia team explained various ongoing volunteer programs, including the Voluntourism Clean Up the Beach Batch 2 event in Teluk Asmara and the Education Fun Trip to 3 Asian Countries.

The Clean Up the Beach program is an event that previously held at Ungapan Beach, but this time the event will now take place at Teluk Asmara. This ongoing program, offers students to have the opportunity to participate in preserving the environment and promoting beach tourism in Malang.

As for the Education Fun Trip, provides students the opportunities to visit top universities in 2 countries: the National University of Singapore (NUS) in Singapore and Asia Pacific University (APU) in Malaysia. With this program, students can broaden their knowledge about study abroad programs as well as the experience of attending international conferences.

The school expressed their appreciation for theses programs because this volunteer program can open up insights for students to be able to engage directly to the community.
